Haus der Astronomie (Christina Birch - USW)
Welcome to the Haus der Astronomie, also known as the House of Astronomy! It is Heidelberg’s Center for Astronomy Education and Outreach.
The institution was founded in 2008 by two organisation. One is Germany’s most famous and largest basic research organisation, the Max Planck Society for Advancement of Science. The other is the Klaus Tschira Foundation. The aims of the organisation are to popularise science among the masses by teaching the public about astronomy and astrophysics.
To aid us in our goal we allow the general public and groups make bookings and see what is here. We also run a summer school and supply the science community with teaching materials.
